Spoken Recipe by Ha Mi Hyun

In Spoken Recipe Volume II, food ethnographer Ha Mi Hyun studies the recipes and food culture that are passed by word of mouth among farmers and natives. The stories and recipes are informed by the author's experiences cooking and eating side-by-side with local farmers, and sharing observations and reflections with those who grow food and cultivate community on Jeju Island in Korea. 

The book is a dive into the cultural and culinary traditions passed orally across agrarian regions and generations. It reads part journal, part novel, and part ingredient index with recipes interspersed.
